About

I am an anthropology graduate student at the Catholic University of Leuven, Belgium. My thesis research explores the relationship between gendered violence and change in the slum communities of Dharavi in Mumbai, India, where I am working with a group of front-line workers engaged in preventing violence against women.

This field-blog is an account of my everyday interactions and fieldwork in Dharavi, and a space to communicate my research insights with my anthropology peers, and a wider non-anthropology audience.

My previous research includes working on AIDS interventions, migration and environment, all in the Mumbai region.
